Myocardial infarction

Myocardial infarction: Myocardial infarction is the medical term for heart attack. ‘Myocardial’ means ‘related to heart muscle’. ‘Infarction’ means deaths of a group of cells due to reduced or absent blood supply. So myocardial infarction is damage to a portion of the heart muscle, usually due to sudden blockage of blood supply to the region.
