Pulmonary valve

Pulmonary valve: Pulmonary valve is at the root of the pulmonary artery, between the right ventricle and the pulmonary artery. It prevents backflow of blood from the pulmonary artery to the right ventricle when the latter relaxes in diastole, after the contraction in systole. Pulmonary valve is called a semilunar valve as it has three semilunar cusps.
